Peter Gandolfo

Director, Aintree Group Legal

Peter Gandolfo (B.Com., LL.B.) is a solicitor and Director at Aintree Group Legal. Peter has served in professional and business leadership roles such as President of the Law Institute of Victoria, Chairman of Legal Aid Commission of Victoria and Deputy President of Victorian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VECCI). He has previously lived and worked locally in the Camberwell and Hawthorn areas for 25 years – establishing the Boroondara Solicitors’ Association and serving as President of the Eastern Suburbs Law Association. Peter brings a commercial edge to legal practice. With legal and commercial experience gained since he was admitted to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor over four decades ago, he advises his clients on a broad range of commercial and personal legal issues, practically and effectively. Balancing work and life is the key for Peter, savouring music, yoga, the arts, family and community, especially where the mountains meet the coast.

Sophie Cohen

Director, Aintree Group Legal

Sophie has over 25 years of experience as a lawyer, business advisor and leader, taking care of clients ranging from families and small businesses to household names. She looks after the ‘legal stuff’ so that clients are empowered to realise their dreams and goals, solve the problems that keep them awake at night, and bring them peace of mind.

Sophie has a heart-based approach to law, which is backed by multiple degrees and a truckload of experience. She brings authentic values-based leadership, a broad commercial perspective, and a healthy dose of creative flair to her work. She values open communication and building genuine relationships with clients, their families and trusted advisors.

At home with her 4 teenage children or partner Dean and his family, you might find Sophie busting out some disco diva moves (much to her kids’ embarrassment), watching movies, or running, swimming and bike riding to stay fit and active. The beach is Sophie’s happy place and she can always rely on the ocean to lift her spirits, free her mind and nurture her soul.

Sophie is also passionate about helping young people to realise their full potential and she does this through her work on the Board of Mindfull Aus Ltd, and as a university educator.

Katie McRae

Legal Operations Manager

Katie has over ten years of experience in the legal industry wearing both client facing and managerial hats. She is an operations ninja with a heart of gold who provides efficient and client-centric management for the Aintree Group Legal team.

Katie gets stuff done. There is no system, process or pivot table that can escape the precision, effectiveness, and alacrity of Katie. She can turn her hand to anything and become an absolute whizz at it in a few swift moves.

Whether it’s day trips, weekends away or overseas travel, Katie is always planning her next adventure.  Katie fills her heart by chasing sunsets and cuddling puppies and feels most content on top of a mountain or breathing in the fresh, salty beach air.

Christian Chenu

Senior Associate

Christian has a background in the financial services industry and has practised law for over 10 years. He has extensive experience with personal and commercial succession planning and is accustomed to working on complex matters with multiple stakeholders across diverse industries and disciplines. He knows that you are the expert on all things concerning you, and that your contribution to any legal strategy can make a good solution better.

Christian can assist you with loan transactions and facilities, shareholder agreements, buy/sell arrangements, business sales, trusts, asset protection strategies, self-managed super fund strategies and commercial transactions in general.

He is passionate about learning, with a curiosity for everything and our go-to person for fun facts in the world. When Christian isn’t solving problems for our clients, look for a quiet café where he’ll be immersed in a book, only occasionally interrupted by his dogs begging for crumbs or by his partner, Linda, instructing him on the minutiae of international business etiquette. He also sits on the committee for an up and coming community theatre company.

Josephine Ziino

Lawyer

Josephine joined our legal team in 2022. She comes from a general practice background working on a diverse range of legal matters including: family, criminal, property, building and construction and litigation, with a particularly keen interest in property law. She is a dog lover and enjoys taking her Cavoodle, Simba, for walks in her spare time, as well as spending time with family and friends, and thinking of the next travel destination with her husband. Josephine can also speak fluent Filipino (Tagalog).

Liam McColl
